How To Go Viral Without Showing Your Face

...And The Rise of VTubers

Many people don’t want to show their face on camera.

Maybe you’re shy, maybe you don’t want your friends to see, or maybe you just have a face for radio.

Whatever the reason, there is now a SUPER easy way for you to be behind the camera, but still be able to express yourself as a person (or animal) in your video.

The Rise of VTubers

Across YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and many other social media channels, we’ve seen the rise of VTubers (aka virtual YouTubers).

What is a VTuber, you ask? These are influencers who use virtual avatars to create content. The best part? They never have to show their face on camera.

Here are some examples:

Ninjisanji is a group of creators making gaming content

Baddi Eddi simply reacts to viral videos.

Ok so let’s get to the good part… what does this mean for YOU? Well simply put… this means that you can be successful without ever showing your face as well.

And surprisingly, it’s actually quite easy to do…

The Software

In the past few weeks, I’ve been obsessed with Adobe Character Animator.

It allows you to create an animated character that syncs to your webcam, moves when you move, and speaks when you speak. It even touches itself when you touch yourself.

Here’s an example of how it works. For full transparency, I am NOT getting paid for this (though I certainly wish I was). I’m simply sharing because I thought it might be useful for your YouTube channel.

The technology has improved so much that it makes it so much easier for average people like me and you to create animations (even if you have zero experience or artistic skill).

Yes, it does cost money but they do offer a free trial (and massive discounts if you’re a student).

How Can You Use This?

You can use this to create storytime videos (e.g. TheOdd1sOut), podcasts, and even use it during livestreams on Twitch. The possibilities are truly endless.

Just to try it out, I created a new channel using an animated character for shits and giggles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ7kMizMOSI

If you end up using the software, let me know and send me your videos - I’d love to watch them!!

Hope this email was helpful - until next time!

Best,
